Being a wedding planner is full of excitement, with no event (or client) ever being the same. As any experienced wedding veteran will tell you, being prepared for ANYTHING is the secret to success and happy clients.

Your on-site wedding day emergency kit is one of the best tools a brand new wedding planner can have (besides some trusted fellow business vendors to learn from). This kit will allow you to handle any issue that should arise and make you look like the shining star you are! Happy clients lead to years of happy referrals so let’s set your business up for success on day one!

Chances are, during your first year, your kit will start small and continue to grow with every event you are a part of, but make sure you budget accordingly to stock the kit from the start.

The three main kits each planner carries are

The Main Kit

This will be your main kit that contains the majority of your items. Make this a bag that’s easy to access and carry. We find roller suitcases and handled tubs  work well for this and can continue to expand as your kit grows.

The Assistant Kit

This will be your on-body kit that carries items you need right away. Think bandaids, mints, safety pins, super glue, floral wire, Tide sticks, eyelash glue, a tide stick, mini flashlight, pens, mini lighter, etc, all tucked into a cross-body bag, branded apron, or a fanny pack

The Wedding Planning Suite Kit

This is normally a small basket with toiletries left for each party to use through the day as needed (spray deodorant, mints, toothpaste, mouthwash, razors and shaving cream, needle and thread, etc)

The actual items that can be in each kit are really limitless, and you’ll know which items you need full size vs travel size. Also, keep in mind you will need a few multiple items for your main kit and your team’s carry kits.
