JOB TITLE: Jr. Designer - part time

 

JOB SUMMARY: Interested in working for a startup? Now is your chance! Rock Paper Coin is a Portland, OR based wedding and event planning platform and we are growing our team. We make signing contracts, sharing documents and sending out invoices a breeze. 

 

As a Jr. Designer you will join our product team working in an agile environment, where designs go through an iterative process, as product requirements get refined, and we get real feedback from end users and stakeholders.

 

OFFICE: NW Portland, OR (team is currently remote)

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As a contributing designer reporting to the Product Manager, you will:

  • Translate complex and ambiguous requirements into concrete and actionable design specifications for a web-based application
  • Develop and maintain high-level artifacts (wireframes, storyboards, process flows) that communicate product ideas. 
  • Build prototypes to demonstrate and test recommendations with customers and stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager on the product roadmap.
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure product designs are feasible, scalable, and reusable.
  • Communicate design expectations clearly to the Engineering team through high fidelity designs, and written specifications.
  • Provide design review of new application functionality on a weekly basis to ensure the product meets design requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

  • 1 year working as a UX designer or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with/contributing to UI component/symbol library
  • A basic understanding of multi-sided platforms
  • Experience working with/contributing to a style guide
  • A basic knowledge of database concepts
  • Experience with interaction/UI design tools (Figma preferred)
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira preferred)
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets
  • A basic understanding of HTML/CSS
  • Experience whiteboarding with stakeholders for design iterations
