👉 Jump to: The Ultimate Wedding Planner Emergency Kit Guide | Printable Emergency Kit Checklist
Any experienced wedding planner will tell you that being prepared for anything is the secret to success and happy clients.
That’s why you should have a wedding planner emergency kit. Better yet, you should have three wedding emergency planner emergency kit bags: a big bag that has almost everything you need and a small bag that you can have on your person. The third wedding planner kit is optional and just for your soon-to-be married-couple — happy clients lead to years of happy referrals.
During your first year or so as a wedding planner, your emergency kit will start small and continue to grow with every wedding you plan.
If you’re a new wedding planner, set a budget and stock the essentials. Our staff at Rock Paper Coin went ahead and did some quick research for you so you’ll know how approximately much to budget for.
Don’t worry if these kits seem too expensive now — starting a wedding planner emergency kit is the most important part. You can add more later.
The Three Wedding Planner Emergency Kits All Wedding Planners Should Have
The Wedding Planner’s Main Emergency Kit
This will be your main kit that contains the majority of your items. Make this a bag that’s easy to access and to carry. We find roller suitcases and handled tubs work well for this and can continue to expand as your kit grows.
The main kit typically comes with you to each venue, but can be stored away in a backroom with your personal belongings.
This emergency kit typically isn’t accessed at all hours — that’s what your assistant kit is for!
The Assistant Kit
This will be your on-body kit that carries items you and your assistants might need right away.
Think bandaids, mints, safety pins, body tape, super glue, floral wire, Tide sticks, eyelash glue, a tide stick, pens, mini lighter, etc, all tucked into a cross-body bag, branded apron, or a fanny pack.
Wedding Planner Pro Tip: put all these items into a zip lock bag and then into your on-body kit.
The Suite Kit
Depending on your couple, you might check with them to see if they already have someone providing this. If not, the suite kit is a small gesture that goes a long way.
The suite kit is a small basket or box (think about branding it with your logo!) with toiletries left for each party to use through the day as needed: spray deodorant, mints, toothpaste, mouthwash, razors and shaving cream, needle and thread, etc.
The actual items that can be in each wedding planner emergency kit are really limitless, and you’ll know which items you need full size vs travel size. Also, keep in mind you will need a few duplicate items for your main kit and your team’s carry kits.
